Bass Kleph – Epic [Live Maschine Edit at Yost Theatre, CA]
With a plethora of bootlegs floating around it is difficult to get excited for a new ‘edit’ of the 2011 collaboration between Sandro Silva and Quintino, Epic. That being said, the often underestimated Bass Kleph took Epic to a whole new level during his June 29th performance at Yost Theatre in Orange County. One of the first artist to use Native Instrument’s highly versatile Maschine controller/software during live performances, with familiar names such as Richie Hawtin and Dubfire following suit, Bass Kleph has mastered the art. Each of the 16 Maschine touch pads have been mapped with a different section of the original track allowing the Australian to live produce a massive ‘drum and bass’ recreation. Watch in awe as you learn what it really means to put on a ‘show’ these days.
If you like what you hear, keep an eye out for Bass Kleph’s upcoming EP release on Vacation Records titled Touchdown LA.
