David Berrie + Patrick Grooves at La Zarza [NYC]: July 6, 2012

Tonight at the intimate music hub La Zarza, two very talented DJ/producers will play for a crowd of true music aficionados. Offering a cozy dark space for DJs to really play with their heart and soul, La Zarza boasts the type of environment which is comparable to that of Cafe Mambo [Ibiza]. Owned by two Spaniards with roots in the club industry, this type of space normally attracts an upscale and ‘hot’ cliental. Tonight in the lounge’s stone room, two DJs that have played for festival crowds numbering in the thousands will instead be catering to a much smaller crew composed of friends and music lovers. First on the bill is Patrick Grooves. The Gran Manzana Records boss (Along with FilSonik), is someone who’s name is being heard more and more. Recently he played the Movement Festival in Detroit and since then he has gained the attention of many. Aside from playing Detroit, he has also played internationally at venues such as Stereo [Montreal], Infierno [Argentina], Green Lounge [Brazil] as well as holding a weekly slot at NYC’s Provocateur. Aside from his solo career, Grooves has been doing a ton of work with Gran Manzana. Boasting a talent filled release schedule for the near future, Patrick has managed to not just DJ/produce, but also involve himself on the business side of music.

Headlining the bill is the multi – genre dominating producer, David Berrie. Most typically known for his progressive/big room alias dBerrie, David also has a keen love for the tech sound. Rarely having the opportunity to play under his tech alias, due to the fact his dBerrie productions are in such high demand, David can often be found playing parties like this when he is not traveling the country. Recently coming off an EP release with Monique Speciale called ‘Blue Parrot’, David has had his tech productions supported by the likes of Marco Carola. Considered to be one of the fastest rising producers in the industry, expect to see David playing all over the globe this year. Also included on the bill is the La Zarza residents, Kris Graham and Mario Larrea.
